RTHMS Seeks $5M to Build a Behavioral Compatibility Network

RTHMS is seeking $5M in seed financing with support from Cymbiotika's founders to develop behavior-based matching and discovery.

The Jason Winkler-founded startup wants to match people using lifestyle patterns rather than only profile descriptions, with fundraising support linked to Cymbiotika's founders.

RTHMS is seeking $5 million in seed funding as it develops a platform that aims to connect people based on patterns of everyday behavior.

Founded by CEO Jason Winkler, the company describes its technology as a behavioral identity and compatibility layer. The fundraising has support from Cymbiotika cofounders Shahab and Durana Elmi, according to published coverage. The full $5 million had not been clearly established as a completed financing round in the sources reviewed.

Beyond Declared Preferences

Most social and discovery apps ask users to describe themselves through questionnaires, interests or profiles. RTHMS is pursuing an alternative that uses patterns associated with actual behavior, with the goal of identifying meaningful compatibility between people.

The system is designed to interpret lifestyle and activity signals and produce profiles that can change as individuals' routines evolve. RTHMS envisions using those representations to recommend people, communities and potentially experiences.

The company also plans to make behavioral context available through an API, allowing approved third-party services or AI agents to use aspects of its matching technology.

The Privacy Question

A product that learns from behavior has to solve more than prediction accuracy. Routine, movement and lifestyle patterns can reveal sensitive information, even when people do not explicitly share personal details.

Users need to understand what is collected, which inferences are made and who can access them. The company has spoken about permissions and privacy but has not published sufficient independent evidence to evaluate its technical safeguards.

RTHMS has also not disclosed revenue, retention data or independently verified evidence that its system generates better matches than traditional approaches.

The proposed seed financing would help the startup develop its product and user base. For now, the central questions are whether the technology delivers genuine usefulness, and whether users trust the company with the behavioral information required to provide it.
