Rocket Software has acquired Geniez AI, an Israeli startup developing autonomous AI agents for enterprise mainframe systems, in a transaction reportedly valued at up to $100 million.

Rocket confirmed the acquisition on October 13 but did not disclose the financial terms. The reported price comes from an external estimate and has not been independently confirmed by the companies.

Founded by Gil Peleg and Dan Shprung, Geniez AI develops agents that work directly with mainframe computers, which continue to run critical infrastructure across banking, insurance and large enterprise operations. Its software is designed to monitor systems, diagnose incidents and execute operational tasks through natural-language instructions.

The acquisition comes roughly a year after Geniez raised $6 million in seed funding. Israeli technology publication CTech reported that the company had only six employees at the time of the deal. Its founders previously built Model9, a mainframe data management company acquired by BMC Software in 2023.

Rocket plans to integrate Geniez's technology and team into its existing AI initiatives, including Rocket EVA, its platform for automating operations across core enterprise systems.

The acquisition reflects growing interest in applying AI agents to legacy infrastructure, where specialized expertise is increasingly difficult to find. The technical challenge is ensuring that autonomous systems can interact safely with critical software that was never designed for AI-driven operations.
