Origin, a construction robotics startup founded in 2025, has raised $20 million in total funding in a round co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures.
The San Francisco company is developing OG-1, a general-purpose robot that finishes drywall up to three times faster than human crews. It plans to use the capital to expand its robot fleet, support pilots in the United States and Europe, and extend its capabilities to additional interior construction trades.
Origin was founded by CEO Yogesh Ghaturle, Tushar Makkar and Ashish Daga. Other investors include Unilazer Ventures, ISAI, Imad Ventures, z21 Ventures, Schema Ventures, Better Capital and Day Zero Ventures, alongside angel investors from Tesla, Anduril, BotCo, Mind Robotics and Sierra Ventures.
Construction is one of the hardest environments for automation, because sites are inconsistent and tolerances are tight. Origin's test is whether OG-1 can work reliably and cost-effectively across real jobsites, and whether finishing one trade well translates into a broader construction robotics business.
