IPX Exchange Raises $4M to Tokenize Intellectual Property for Fans

IPX Exchange has raised $4 million in seed funding at a $125 million valuation to build an exchange for tokenized intellectual property.

IPX Exchange has raised $4 million in seed funding at a $125 million valuation, with Bitsurge Holdings as an investor, to build an operating system and exchange for tokenized intellectual property.

The Miami-based company lets fans buy, sell, trade and stake IP tokens tied to celebrities, athletes, artists and other rights holders, using a combination of traditional finance and blockchain rails. It says revenue generated by the underlying rights is intended to fund rewards for token holders.

IPX says it has more than 100 celebrity IP tokens in its pipeline and that more than 100 celebrities have signed exclusive agreements ahead of its public launch. The company plans to launch its operating system and token on the BASE network on November 15. It is founded and led by CEO Brendan McCafferty, with Jordan Schlosser as co-founder.

Tokenized rights are a young and lightly regulated category. The commercial test will be whether IPX can generate real, verifiable revenue from those rights and sustain liquidity in its tokens, rather than relying on the novelty of celebrity-linked assets.
