Astribot has raised approximately $149 million in new funding, valuing the Chinese robotics company at roughly $2.2 billion as it expands development and commercialization of its AI-powered robots.

The financing amounted to 1 billion yuan and was led by Toposcend Capital, with participation from Hongtai Fund, Ninghai Xingtaihe Fund, Shanheng Capital and existing investor Xianmu. The reported post-money valuation of 15 billion yuan represents an increase from approximately 10 billion yuan earlier this year.

Founded in 2022 by Lai Jie, a former researcher at Tencent Robotics X and Baidu, the Shenzhen-based company develops robots designed to perform household and industrial manipulation tasks. Its flagship Astribot S1 combines a humanoid upper body with a mobile base, using a cable-driven mechanical system to produce fast, precise arm and hand movements.

The company is also developing the smaller T1 robot as it works to move from research demonstrations toward broader commercial deployment. The new financing will support AI model development, engineering recruitment, manufacturing capacity and expansion into additional markets.

Astribot operates in an increasingly competitive Chinese robotics industry, where companies are racing to develop machines that can perform useful physical work outside controlled laboratory settings.

The next challenge is demonstrating reliable autonomous operation across varied environments while reducing hardware costs enough to support large-scale commercial adoption.
